Running a Pilates studio is about much more than filling spaces in a class.
Instructors get to know their clients over time. They understand what they’re working towards, what might be limiting them, how their bodies respond, and how their needs change.
But the software used to run a studio doesn’t always reflect that.
Many studio management platforms are designed to work across all kinds of fitness businesses. They’re good at the basics, like scheduling classes, taking payments and managing bookings, but Pilates studios often need to keep track of much more than that.
That was one of the reasons we started building Appilates.
Starting with Pilates
Appilates was designed specifically around the relationship between Pilates instructors and their clients.
Bookings are part of that, of course. But so are client information, goals and progress.
Instructors and clients can set goals together and keep track of progress over time. Clients can see that progress through their own app, while instructors have the information they need to support them in the studio.
It means the software can reflect more of what is actually happening in a Pilates practice, rather than simply keeping track of who is attending which class.
One connected experience
We also wanted the different parts of running a studio to feel connected.
Clients can book through a studio’s custom-branded website or client app, with their bookings and information managed through Appilates.
For studio owners, that means fewer separate systems to manage. For clients, it means a simpler experience that still feels like part of the studio they know.
Built from the ground up
Building software specifically for Pilates has given us the freedom to think carefully about what belongs in it, rather than starting with a generic system and adapting it afterwards.
That has taken time.
Appilates brings together years of Pilates studio experience with decades of professional software development. We’ve built it from the ground up because we wanted to create something robust enough for the day-to-day realities of running a studio, while still reflecting the care and individual attention that sits at the heart of Pilates.
And we're continuing to learn from the studios using it.
Because good studio software shouldn't dictate how a Pilates studio works.
It should support the way it already does.
